Setup Guide

Mago can be set up in two ways, depending on how your room will be used. Choose the experience that fits your needs before proceeding with the installation.

BYOM or Room System?

Mago turns any room into a modern meeting space. Before installing, it's worth taking a moment to decide how your room will be used. This determines the hardware requirements, the video conferencing licenses involved, and the steps you'll follow.

The two available experiences are BYOM only and Room System (includes BYOM), each suited to different scenarios and levels of room autonomy.

BYOM

Bring Your Own meeting only

With BYOM (Bring Your Own Meeting), a user device, laptop or mobile, connects to the room to start and manage meetings. The room relies on the user's device for meeting launch and control.

Best for: flexible spaces, hot-desking rooms, or quick rollouts where no dedicated room identity is needed.

Room System

Includes BYOM

With Room System, the room has its own identity and can start, host, and manage meetings independently via a touch controller and calendar integration. BYOM is still supported: users can connect their device and take control if needed.

Best for: dedicated meeting rooms with high utilization, rooms that need to be bookable via calendar, or scenarios where meetings should start without a user device.
