Before you begin

Before installing Mago Pro, make sure the target device and operating environment meet all mandatory requirements. A correct preparation ensures system stability, security and full supportability.

1

Hardware requirements

You may use either:

  • a Mago certified core unit listed in the “Certified Room Devices” chapter, or

  • your own Windows hardware that meets the minimum specifications described

Ensure that all essential drivers (GPU, chipset, network, audio, touch, camera) are available for Windows 11 and confirm compatibility of connected peripherals such as interactive displays, cameras, microphones and speakers.

2

System preparation

  • Certified devices come with Mago pre-installed. In this case, no OS preparation is required beyond Windows Update or Intune configuration.

  • For customer-supplied hardware, a fresh installation of Windows 11 is mandatory.

  • Do not use vendor-modified system images such as Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, or locked OPS firmware.

  • Remove any preinstalled software, trialware or security agents that may interfere with Mago.

3

Network requirements

  • Connect the device to a stable wired network whenever possible.

  • Ensure firewalls, proxies and security appliances allow traffic to the required Mago services and ports.

  • Prepare any necessary Intune, GPO or MDM policies before deployment.

4

Security configuration

  • Use a local administrator account to perform the installation and initial configuration.

  • Make sure the device is not configured with any pre-existing kiosk mode or auto-login policy.

  • Configure antivirus or endpoint protection software to allow installation and runtime execution (add exclusions if required).

5

Licensing and account preparation

  • Have your Mago license key or Mago Admin Center credentials ready.

  • If using third-party authentication (Microsoft 365, Google or Apple), ensure these integrations are enabled and tested in your environment.

6

Peripherals and room setup

  • Connect all displays and peripherals before installing or launching Mago so they are detected correctly on first startup.

  • For dual-display configurations, ensure both screens are powered on and correctly identified in Windows Display Settings.
