# Licensing requirements

## Joining meetings as a guest

With Mago, joining meetings as a guest with the supported video conferencing providers is free and does not require any user or room license.

{% hint style="info" %}
Beginning March 2, 2026, joining Zoom meetings from Mago will require a connected and authorized Zoom user account. This applies to all join methods, including Meeting ID and passcode, as well as starting new meetings. Make sure a Zoom user is connected in your organization settings to ensure uninterrupted access.
{% endhint %}

## Starting meetings as a host (instant meetings)

With Mago, starting a meeting as a host requires a user or room license assigned to the account for the specific video conferencing provider.
