# DNS and NTP

Mago Essential requires access to DNS services to resolve domain names for functions such as software updates, authentication, and cloud-based services (e.g., magolink.com, admin.mago.io). Accurate time synchronization is also critical for certificate validation and secure communication. Ensure the device can access a reliable NTP server (e.g., time.windows.com or a local NTP source) to maintain correct system time.
