# (Optional) Setting Up HDMI Capture for Wired Screen Sharing

To enable the HDMI input capabilities of Mago Essential for wired screen sharing, you need to use a certified HDMI capture card. Follow these steps:

1. **Obtain a Certified Capture Card**
   * Ensure you have a certified capture card that supports HDMI input, such as the INOGENI 4K2USB3 USB 3.0 Capture Card or any other approved models from the supported list.
2. **Connect the Capture Card**
   * Plug the HDMI capture card into one of the available USB or USB-C ports on the Mago Essential device.
   * Ensure the card is securely connected and recognized by the device.
3. **Connect HDMI Cable**
   * Take an HDMI 2.0+ cable and connect one end to the HDMI output of the Mago Essential device.
   * Route the other end of the cable to the designated location in the room, such as a table or another area where users will have access to it.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://kb.mago.io/mago-essential/setup-guide/hardware-installation/optional-setting-up-hdmi-capture-for-wired-screen-sharing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
